Is your process cooling plant as energy efficient as it could be?

An optimised process cooling plant is a vital ingredient when aiming to achieve any useful manufacturing applications – with greater manufacturing demands, energy costs may spiral unnoticed.

It is fair to assume that until your system malfunctions, it may not require servicing. However, if you don’t regularly evaluate the performance of your system, it could be running inefficiently and costing you money.

Here’s our top tips for making sure your process cooling chiller is as energy-efficient as possible:

  1. Don’t oversize your chiller – Many businesses overestimate their cooling needs. Always consider your specific requirements before committing to a larger chiller.
  2. Your chiller doesn’t always need to be operating at maximum capacity – It may be designed to deal with high demand on the hottest day of the year – but this level of operation isn’t something you’ll need on an everyday basis.
  3. Keep coolers clean and maintained – Debris, dust and dirty parts can all obstruct the process of your chiller and cause it to operate beneath your desired level – whilst still consuming the same amount of energy.

If you’d like to chat to our friendly and experienced team about your process cooling chiller and find out whether it’s costing you more than it should, simply give us a call on 0845 094 2644.
